About Us

The Springboard Academy is a for-profit institution dedicated to helping people succeed.  Started in June 2010, the Academy offers innovative curriculum to individuals who want to become "their very best selves" and corporations who want to develop their employees and gain an edge over the competition.

Team Bios: 

 Margo Myers, Executive Director

Margo Myers PhotoAfter spending more than 20 years in front of the TV camera, primarily as an anchor at KIRO-TV and KOMO-TV in Seattle, Margo knows what it takes to present your ‘best self.’ As a former award-winning news anchor, and now media consultant, she’s worked with experts to find the right ‘look,’ as well as to speak effectively in public, and she enjoys passing that knowledge on to others.

Graduating with honors from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, she has a passion for helping people achieve both their personal and career goals, and is now helping clients of The Springboard Academy make the most of their opportunities. You’ll find Margo emceeing events in the Seattle area for non-profit groups, serving on the WSU Board of Trustees, the Murrow College of Communications Advisory Board, and the Seafair Board.

 Suzanne Keel-Eckmann, Co-founder

Suzanne Keel-Eckmann PhotoSuzanne is a retired Firm Director for Deloitte, the international accounting and consulting firm, where she led the Firm’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability initiatives. She also served as the Northwest regional operations leader and led the Deloitte Services Women’s Initiative. Prior to joining Deloitte, she honed her technical and leadership skills as the legal administrator for two multi-location law firms and as the founder of a technology-based outsourcing firm.

Suzanne lectures at the University of Washington and serves on several boards focused on sustainability and the advancement of women. She attended the University of Alabama and Golden Gate University and continued her education with a Green Belt in Process Excellence and certification as a LEED Accredited Professional.

Tom Eckmann, Chairman

Tom Eckmann PhotoTom has more than 35 years experience as a serial entrepreneur, consultant and business executive. He has successfully started and sold several companies and been the senior operations executive in two public companies. Tom is a published author and is currently a faculty member at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in innovation and entrepreneurship.  Tom earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at the University of California in Berkeley.  [more]

Elizabeth Harris, Chief Marketing Officer

Elizabeth Harris PhotoElizabeth has over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, executive management and consulting. In addition to successfully serving in several senior management roles, Elizabeth is a business owner and management consultant. Throughout her career, Elizabeth’s work has focused on business and relationship development. She is driven by a passion for improving people’s lives at work, in turn making businesses more successful. Elizabeth is a strong proponent of community service and is active in several Rotary committees.
