01/19/2012 Springboard Academy Completes Program Expansion
The Springboard Academy, a Seattle-based professional development company that helps men and women accelerate their career success, today announced its full line-up of workshops and programs for 2012. In addition to programs for individuals, the Springboard Academy, formerly GoGirl Academy, now offers development programs for businesses, focusing on business developers, future leaders, high-performance team members, and others.
“We’ve developed our curriculum based on years of business experience, and we see tangible results with our clients as they take on more responsibility within their companies, gain promotions and achieve higher levels of success,” said Margo Myers, Executive Director. “Now we offer more targeted programs to help businesses get the results they want.”
The Springboard Academy offers multi-week programs and workshops, including those aimed at the:
- High Performer – increases effectiveness, leadership and communication skills within internal teams.
- Business Developer – develops presentation and networking skills needed for employees with high visibility in the community.
- Developing Leader – prepares high potential individuals for future leadership opportunities within the organization.
- Personal Coaching – one-on-one coaching for high potential employees in line for promotion.
“All of these programs are designed to teach people the tactical skills needed for success that you don’t learn anywhere else,” said Tom Eckmann, Chairman. “You can be technically proficient, but we’ve found that employees with these added skills advance in the workplace more rapidly.”
The Springboard Academy holds classes at their offices in south Seattle, and also conducts programs on site. Faculty consists of career coaches, successful corporate executives, media professionals, image consultants, best-selling authors and community leaders.

08/16/2011 Local Entrepreneur Honored by President Obama as ‘Champion of Change’- Ovaleye’s Jennifer Donogh Recognized for Work with Young Female Entrepreneurs
Jennifer Donogh, co-owner of GGA web solutions partner Ovaleye.com, is a newly named “Champion of Change” by the Obama Administration. Jennifer created and now leads Young Female Entrepreneurs, an online support group and incubator for entrepreneurial women in their 20s and 30s.

“SEATTLE, April 20, 2011 – GoGirl Academy™, the Seattle-based success acceleration program for women seeking a competitive edge in the workplace, today announced a partnership with Seattle’s luxury Four Seasons Hotel to host GoGirl Academy classes and workshops.

02/15/2011 Jenni Hogan is Shorty Awards Finalist for Journalism!
“Hollywood has the Oscars. Broadway has the Tonys. Now Twitter has the… Shorty Awards” (New York Times).
The Shorty Awards honor the best people and organizations on Twitter and social media. The Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences will determine the winners from among the finalists. The announcement will be made at the Shorty Awards Ceremony on Monday, March 28th, 2011 at The Times Center in New York City.

Shauna Causey, GGA’s Facebook and Twitter guru, joins Nordstrom to lead their social media efforts. Shauna previously pioneered the use of social media at Comcast and most recently was a consultant with Google.

Our founder, Jenni Hogan, was featured as Diane von Furstenberg’s “look of the week”. Also, Seattle Insider nominates her for a Short Award in the #journalist category — this video may be a little over the top, but then so is Jenni (sometimes)!

GGA founder, Jenni Hogan, is a recognized leader on the social media front. She recently passed 20,000 followers on Twitter and was recognized in Evening Magazine’s Best of Western Washington Poll as the “Best Local Personality on Twitter.” Most recently, she was profiled in a blog written by Scott Meis at Weber Shandwick Seattle. 12/13/2010 First GoGirl “Meet-up” at the Four Seasons Hotel raises money for Gilda’s Club
GoGirl Academy announced the start of January programs, including a new Career Transitions program for women making a major change in their lives such as starting a second career, launching a new business, or returning to work after a long absence. Over 50 women turned out for this special event which also raised money money for Gilda’s Club in honor of a GGA alumna who is fighting breast cancer.
10/16/2010 Emerald City Swank raises $97,000 to support Seattle Works
Tara Smith, GoGirl Alumna and newly-appointed Executive Director of Seattle Works, played hostess at the annual Emerald City Swank gala held at the Seattle Waterfront Marriott. In honor of Tara’s accomplishments, GGA contributed a full scholarship for the event’s silent auction. Also, GGA faculty member Tommy Gene Harlow teamed with several alumnae to create a “SimpleTini Party” (billed as the “ultimate ladies event”) for the live auction. In total, the event raised $97,000 to support the non-profit’s HandsOn Leadership programs.

The winner of the GoGirl Academy scholarship was New Day Northwest viewer Leilani Glassmyer. She’s from Edmonds, currently employed in administration at Swedish, and she’ll be starting our Career Acceleration class on Thursday September 30th! Way to Go!

09/25/2010 Linda Flaherty publishes her first book
Leadership Council Member Linda Flaherty has been working for the past few years on a collection of short stories about growing up in the rural South during the 1950s and early 60s. Her collection of stories was just published in a book entitled “An Anguished Hallelujah,” and is available on Amazon. com.
